Season 1 Episode 9

Evelyn Wald

When I think about mental health and suicide and, in particular, my own family, people literally distance— like physically—themselves from you, when they hear that. Like, somehow, this is contagious. And, of course you know, none of us wants those things to really happen to us. But, in fact, they happen to everybody.

Evelyn Wald

Evelyn has 28 years experience as a grief and loss counselor. She also helped establish a home for people at the end stages of their lives (which recently closed after 20 years). She is the Program Director for TIDES, an organization for grieving children and their families. She began as a volunteer when it began 20 years ago. Evelyn is also a trained divorce and custody mediator and worked in a small non-profit organization focused on restorative justice for more than ten years. She is also an ordained Lutheran minister and serves a small, rural church in central Pennsylvania. She loves the outdoors and enjoys bicycling and hiking.
